Men's Sheds

A sign-in book for Men's Sheds that keeps itself

Members and visitors sign in and out at the door with their phone or a tablet. The committee always knows who is in the shed, and has the attendance numbers when it needs them.

The sign-in book, without the book

Put a QR code by the door. Members scan it with their phone camera, say whether they are a member or a visitor and where they are working today, and confirm they will only use the machines they have been inducted on. Their details are saved on their phone, so next time it is one tap.

  • Member, visitor or first visit
  • Woodwork, metalwork, garden or kitchen
  • An emergency contact, and the shed rules ticked

A tablet at the door for members without a smartphone

Not every member carries a smartphone. Open the Welcome Screen on any tablet and leave it by the door: members sign in on the screen and sign out with one tap on the way home. On Growth, regulars can hold a member QR badge up to the tablet instead. A committee member can also sign someone in or out from the dashboard.

  • Any iPad or Android tablet, no app to install
  • A PIN so only the committee can leave the screen
  • Works next to the QR code, on the same records

Who is in the shed

Know who is in the shed right now, and who came this month

Members sign out when they go home. Today shows who is still in the shed, which matters when there is an accident or a fire alarm, and when the last person locks up. It groups sign-ins into sessions, so the committee sees how many came on Tuesday and Thursday, and you can export the numbers for the annual report or a grant application.

  • Who is in now, and since when
  • Attendance for each day the shed is open
  • Export to a spreadsheet any time
