Come and try sign-in that covers Temporary Membership

New archers sign in on their phone with every detail Archery Australia's Temporary Membership form asks for, and sign it. The coach signs on the record, and the secretary has the quarter's list in a minute.

What the insurance asks

Everyone who shoots must be registered, come and try archers included

Archery Australia's public liability insurance covers people who shoot at a club only when they are registered: as members, or as Temporary Members. Temporary Membership is for people under instruction, a come and try session or a beginners' course, for up to 12 visits, and for visitors up to four times a year. Members of the ABA or 3DAAA can shoot as Temporary Members too, once the club has seen their card.

Each Temporary Member fills in Archery Australia's form, and the club sends the forms on at least every quarter. On a busy come and try day that is a stack of paper, and the forms that go missing are the archers the club can't show were covered. Archery SA explains the rules; your state association can confirm what applies to your club.

  • ABA or 3DAAA membership, for the club to check

They agree to the conditions and sign before their first arrow

The form asks for everything on Archery Australia's Temporary Membership form, plus an emergency contact. The archer ticks the conditions, worded the way your club wants, and signs with a finger. A parent or guardian gives their name and signs for anyone under 18. Each sign-in is dated, so the 12 visits under instruction count themselves.

  • A signature on every sign-in
  • A parent or guardian's name for juniors
  • Their details are filled in for them next time

The coach signs too

The supervising coach signs on the record, not on a clipboard

Archery Australia's form is also signed by the coach or club official running the session. Add those as team fields: they stay off the archer's form, and the coach fills in their name and signs on each record from the dashboard on a phone or tablet, during the session or at the end of it. Today shows everyone who came to the session in one list.

The quarter's Temporary Members in a minute

When the forms are due, the secretary opens Visitor Records, picks the quarter and downloads every come and try and visiting archer with their answers, ready to send or to copy onto Archery Australia's form. Search a name to see every date they shot, so you know who is close to their 12 visits and ready to be asked to join.

  • Export a date range as a spreadsheet
  • Every date a person shot, in one search
  • Signatures kept on each record

Less paperwork for the volunteers who run come and try

  • No paper on the day

A QR code at the come and try desk. Families fill it in while they wait for the session to start.

  • Signed, every time

The archer signs on their phone; a parent or guardian signs for juniors.

  • Visits count themselves

Every sign-in is dated, so you can see how many times each newcomer has shot.

  • Find anyone in seconds

Search a name to see each visit, their answers and their signature.

  • Ready for the quarter

Download the quarter’s Temporary Members as a spreadsheet for the secretary.

  • Kept private

Addresses and signatures are encrypted, and only the people your club gives access can see them.
